For almost 700 years St Peter’s Church in the village of Drayton Bassett has been a site where Christians have gathered to pray and worship. This continues to the present day and you are very welcome to join us at our Sunday services at 9.30am.
A Very Brief History
St Peter's dates back to 1327 when Ralph Lord Bassett was licensed by the then recently crowned king, Edward III, to discharge a debt by building a church at Drayton Bassett. The building fell into neglect and was severely damaged by a storm in 1792 which resulted in much of it being rebuilt, evidenced by the different brickwork when you compare the tower and the nave.
Today, St Peter's is part of The Parish of Drayton Bassett, Fazeley & Mile Oak, working with St Paul's Fazeley and St Barnabas, Mile Oak.
